The Cottage at Royal Terrace is an intimate restaurant with a choice of individual tables or communal dining room, It is one of Edinburgh city centre’s most beautiful and distinctive settings.
You’ll find us surrounded by greenery at 1 Royal Terrace Gardens, with access from London Road (EH7 5DX; what3words: ///nature.finest.spike).
Follow the garden path to our historic stone cottage, just a short, scenic walk from the East End of Princes Street and Edinburgh Playhouse.
Designed by William Playfair in 1836, the cottage was originally built as a home for the gardens’ resident gardener. Today, it offers a warm and welcoming space where guests come together around a shared table or nestle in an intimate corner.
Our menus are shaped by the Scottish seasons, with a strong focus on locally sourced ingredients and finishing touches picked from our own kitchen garden.
