The Cottage at Royal Terrace is an intimate restaurant and communal dining room, hidden away in one of Edinburgh city centre’s most beautiful and distinctive settings.
You’ll find us surrounded by greenery at 1 Royal Terrace Gardens, with access from London Road (EH7 5DX; what3words: ///nature.finest.spike).
Follow the garden path to our historic stone cottage, just a short, scenic walk from the East End of Princes Street and Edinburgh Playhouse.
Designed by William Playfair in 1836, the cottage was originally built as a home for the gardens’ resident gardener. Today, it offers a warm and welcoming space where guests come together around a shared table.
Our menus are shaped by the Scottish seasons, with a strong focus on locally sourced ingredients and finishing touches picked from our own kitchen garden.
